Internal Leagues

The internal league system caters for all levels of ability and covers both Squash and Racketball and is open to all men and women members. Everyone is expected to make a contribution by contacting opponents, and for information, mainly of new members, it is customary to offer to pay your share of the cost of the court.

Playing in the leagues allows you to quickly establish regular playing partners of a similar standard, as well as new players to challenge you as you (hopefully) improve. The winter league is complemented by a smaller summer league for those members wanting year round competitive squash.

County Leagues

We have 8 men’s teams and 1 ladies’ team in the Derbyshire County Leagues  for Squash and 1 Mixed Racketball teams.  Why not come along on a Monday [alternate], Tuesday or Thursday evening to support them. The court bookings for the matches on Thursday nights will mean that court 3 is available to members until 7.40 p.m. and if members are prepared to be a little flexible, courts often become free at around 9.20 p.m on Mondays and Thursdays.

Men – Where two men’s teams are playing at home on the same night, the team in the lower league will start two rubbers on courts 4 and 5 at 7.00 p.m. The team in the higher league will start a rubber on court 3 (glass back) at 7.40 p.m. and will subsequently also have priority on court 4 or 5 as soon as the lower team has completed a second rubber on one of those courts leaving the lower team to finish their match on the one remaining court, preferably court 5. The team in the higher league has priority on glass-back court. The start time will be 7.40 p.m. whenever only one team is at home.

Ladies – The start times for Derbyshire ladies home matches is 7.40 p.m.

Junior Inter County events at Duffield will start at 12 noon and 6.20pm on Saturday and at 10.20am on Sunday.
