We offer a structured coaching programme to develop our junior players. All coaching is provided by our qualified and experienced coaches.
Junior coaching sessions are designed to be fun whilst players learn the basic techniques. As youngsters progress, the sessions will focus more on skills and competitive play. More confident players who are ready for competition can join our mini squash leagues or participate in club tournaments.
Our junior coaching programme includes:
Tiny tots
(Aged 2 – 4 years)
Children from as young as 3 can learn how to throw, catch and hit a ball. Our programme for very young children is is more than being about squash, its aimed to help them to develop their movement, balance and coordination, in a safe, structured and fun environment.
Mini squash
Developed by England Squash as the UK approved programme for children aged 7 years and under, Mini Squash encourages children to get on court and have fun through fun filled sessions aimed at developing skills such as communication and social skills. More than just squash, Mini Squash is about movement, co-ordination and balance as well as introducing children to the basic elements of the game. Using specialised equipment, it introduces these skills to children from a young age, helping to boost their confidence.

Beginners squash
Beginners squash provides an introduction to the sport and focuses on learning the very basic skills of the game including: serve and return, forehand and backhand, drive, volley, drop-shots and the lob.
Improvers squash
At the improvers level, we build on these basic skills to develop basic racket / eye coordination for basic strokes. Improvers level focuses more on technique in the game and encourages competitive play whilst keeping fits and having fun.
Development
At this level children develop their skills for competitive play by introducing the technical and tactical principles required for a full game.
Safe guarding & protecting children
All of our coaches hold ESR licenses, are CRB checked and first aid qualified. In addition, we also have child protection policy in place, so you can be assured that your child is in a safe environment.
