This new offer is a joint effort by the squash and tennis clubs aimed at attracting parents with their children who are new to racket sports, but would like to have a go at tennis, squash, racketball or use the gym.
The offer lasts for a year and is flexible so members of the family can try any of the sports in any order they like. We hope that after they have had this introductory offer they will want to play one or more of the activities on a regular basis and become a member of either or both clubs.
We are keeping the costs as low as we can, so the charge is £20/month per adult, children go free. Tennis courts are part of the deal, but there will be the usual modest charges for booking squash courts, gym sessions and tennis court flood lighting, if required.
The only way we can keep costs down is by having some restrictions on when family members can play. Basically the offer applies when clubs are less busy, which for squash courts, family members can book courts anytime on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The busy days are Monday to Thursday evenings so last bookings will be 4:00pm. For Tennis Family members will be able to book during the week off peak and Saturday/Sunday from noon onwards. For the gym they will be able to book anytime.
There will be support for families who want to take up this offer in the form of an introduction to the club and it’s facilities, availability of coaching, loan of rackets to get them started. There will also be special events put on which they can be a part of, and of course they will be able to use all the other club facilities such as the changing rooms, saunas, bar and tv lounge.
This is only a brief introduction to the offer. Anyone interested should contact Bob Allen, DSRC Treasurer, mob 07816 206197, or James Grindell, Head Tennis Coach, mob 07968 058383.
